Cherokee County, GA – Carmel Elementary School has secured first place in the recent Cherokee County School District (CCSD) districtwide Science Olympiad, leading a strong performance by elementary students who will now advance to the state competition in May 2026. The event showcased the scientific prowess of students across the district, featuring 18 diverse science challenges and a dedicated Speed Building Competition.
The district Science Olympiad served as a crucial qualifying round, with the top-performing teams earning their spot in the upcoming state-level event. Following Carmel Elementary's top honor, Avery Elementary School achieved an impressive second-place finish, demonstrating strong competitive spirit and scientific understanding.
