Vigo, Spain – Chinese pianist Yang Gao has been awarded the prestigious First Prize at the X Concurso Internacional de Piano Ciudad de Vigo, competition organizers announced on August 15, 2026. The international event, marking its tenth edition, concluded in the Spanish city, recognizing top talents in classical piano from across the globe.
Joining Gao among the competition's top laureates were Hyo-Eun Park of South Korea, who secured the Second Prize, and Jackie Xiaoyu Zhang of the United Kingdom, who was awarded the Third Prize. These pianists distinguished themselves through their performances in the highly competitive event.
As part of their recognition, Hyo-Eun Park received a monetary award of 3,000 euros along with a diploma for her Second Prize achievement. Jackie Xiaoyu Zhang's Third Prize included 1,500 euros and a diploma.
