Alfred University’s MostArts Festival has officially announced the esteemed group of finalists for its 2026 Young Pianists Competition. Eight talented teenage pianists from across the United States are set to converge at Alfred University in Alfred, NY, from July 12 to 18, 2026, to compete for top honors and substantial prize money.

The week-long festival will showcase the young musicians' virtuosity through a series of challenging rounds. Competitors will first engage in solo performances, demonstrating their individual artistry and technical prowess. The highly anticipated Grand Finale Concert will serve as the platform for naming the competition's ultimate winner. Beyond the prestige of the title, the competition offers a significant prize structure designed to support the burgeoning careers of these young artists. The grand prize winner will receive $10,000, while the second-place finalist will be awarded $5,000, and the third-place recipient will take home $2,500. Additionally, two $500 Audience Favorite Awards will be presented, reflecting public appreciation for outstanding performances.

The announced finalists include a promising roster of young talent: Maggie Bai, Daniel Beal, Stephen Chen, William Feng, Alexander Liu, Jeremy Liu, and Rei Yamazono. An eighth finalist is also part of the competition, completing the lineup of young pianists poised to captivate audiences and judges alike.
