Fremont, Nebraska – Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) athletes showcased their competitive spirit at the 2026 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Outdoor Championships, held from May 1-2 at Midland University. Spearheading DWU’s efforts, Quenton Walls delivered a standout performance, securing a second-place finish in the triple jump and leading a contingent of four Tigers to achieve All-Conference status.
Walls' impressive showing in the men's triple jump was a key highlight for the Dakota Wesleyan team. He recorded a formidable distance of 13.74 meters, earning him the silver medal in the event and solidifying his position among the conference's top competitors. The All-Conference honor is a significant recognition within collegiate athletics, bestowed upon athletes who demonstrate elite performance by finishing within the top eight of their respective events at the championship meet.
Beyond Walls' individual success, two other Dakota Wesleyan male athletes also distinguished themselves by earning All-Conference honors. Maxwell Raab demonstrated his throwing prowess in the javelin, unleashing a throw of 51.37 meters to clinch sixth place. His consistent performance contributed valuable points to the team's overall standings. Meanwhile, Talan Heezen showcased his skill and precision in the pole vault, where he successfully cleared a height of 4.10 meters, tying for eighth place in a tightly contested field.
