The essay contest season continues to unfold with a flurry of announcements, including the opening of a significant new scholarship opportunity and the unveiling of winners from several prominent competitions across the United States and internationally.
Most recently, Direct Textbook announced the launch of its 2026 Essay Scholarship Contest on August 19, 2026. This competition invites students nationwide to participate for a chance to win a share of $2,730 in total prizes, with the top award set at $2,000.
Meanwhile, students celebrating recent achievements include Dubai-based Aria Pareek, who clinched The Pathos Prize for Best Writing in the Junior Division of the Cambridge Re:Think Essay Competition 2026. Announced on August 12, 2026, Pareek's exceptional entry placed her in the top 0.25% of more than 15,000 submissions from over 50 countries. Her accolades include a USD 150 cash award, a USD 500 CCIR Academy Scholarship, a digital award certificate, and a featured podcast interview.
The Jane Austen Society also revealed the results of its 2026 Essay Contest on August 17, 2026. The society announced and published the winning essays, along with honorable mentions, recognizing numerous talented writers. Scholarship awards were granted to the top three essays in each division.
