Recent weeks have seen a flurry of announcements from major art and photography competitions worldwide, celebrating top talent across diverse categories. The 2026 Women in Art Prize, the Colorscape event, and the Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize are among the prominent organizations that have unveiled their 2026 award recipients.
The Women in Art Prize 2026 recognized five exceptional artists. Abi Joy Samuel received the Sculpture Prize for her work, So Very Far Off, Lie More Ruins. Yang Zhou was honored with the Eve Arnold Photography Prize for Faërie V, while Yichu Li secured the Digital & Moving Image Prize for Yichu 1.0. Nadia Zekouki Andres earned the Young Woman in Art Prize for The Weight of Rest, and Eve Morrison was awarded the Susan Angoy Artists of African & Caribbean Heritage Prize for I Have a Dream. The program extended beyond awards, offering exhibition, mentoring, residency, and international development opportunities.
The 2026 Colorscape event, which took place across locations including Norwich, NY, Waterville, NY, and Smyrna, NY, also published its photography and sculpture award winners. In the Photography category, Stephan Foster claimed first place for Revive the Ambiance, followed by Jody Hildreth in second place for Acorn Whimsey, and Lee Ingraham in third place for Stonehouse. For Sculpture, Linda Kays-Biviano took home first place, with John Jackson securing second place for Whimsical Sculpture, and Casey Shepherd earning third place for Hippie West Crafts.
Further celebrating sculptural excellence, the Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize announced its 2026 sculpture category winners. Jale Soysal was awarded 1st Prize for The First Arrow, Rachel Ann Stevenson received 2nd Prize, and Ernest Massuet took 3rd Prize for Into the Blue.
A broader roundup of international results highlighted several other significant awards. Andy Goldsworthy was named the recipient of the Praemium Imperiale Award for Sculpture, an honor announced from Japan. The İstanbul Photo Awards 2026 recognized Fiorella Baldisserri with second prize in the Story Nature & Environment category. In the Our Gibraltar competition, Timothy Cumming won both the Ministry of Culture Award and Photography Award first prize. Anna Latin secured first prize in a sculpture-related category, with Paul Lavagna taking second prize. Additionally, the 2026 Minimalist Photography Awards named Polish artist Marcin Giba as Minimalist Photographer of the Year for his work, The Last Winter.
