Salt Lake City, Utah – The results of the junior division of the 2026 Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition have been announced, with 15-year-old South Korean pianist Lee Joo-eon securing the coveted gold medal and a $10,000 prize. The finals of the prestigious competition were held on June 20, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah, culminating in a significant victory for the young talent.

Lee Joo-eon's triumph marks a notable achievement in the international classical music scene. The gold medal is accompanied by a substantial monetary prize, recognizing her exceptional performance among a highly competitive field of young pianists from around the globe.

Following closely in the junior division, Chinese pianists demonstrated remarkable skill. Liu Menhe, an 11-year-old from China, was awarded the silver medal and a $5,000 prize. Junye Huang, 14, also from China, earned the bronze medal, receiving a $3,000 prize for his performance.

The competition also recognized other outstanding participants. Finalist honors were bestowed upon Shengkai Wang of China and Wilson Liu of the USA, each receiving a $2,000 prize for their strong showings. Additionally, Ruohan Wang was presented with a Discretionary Prize of $1,000, acknowledging a special merit in his performance.
