Barcelona, Spain – Pianist Zhu Wang, 28, has secured the prestigious First Prize at the Barcelona Spring piano competition, distinguishing himself with an outstanding rendition of Rachmaninoff's Concerto No. 2. The announcement follows a grand finale where finalists performed alongside the JONC orchestra, conducted by Manuel Valdivieso, at the iconic Palau de la Música.
Wang's triumph was comprehensive, earning him not only the top honor but also the Fundació Occident Prize, the Audience Award, and the Student Jury Award, underscoring his widespread appeal and technical mastery.
